Jeffrey S. Kinder, Self Storage Management Since 1986 

After twelve years of traveling through twenty four countries on four continents with Up With People, Inc., attending the University of Arizona and working as an independent producer, Mr. Kinder began his self storage career in 1986 with National Self Storage Inc., overseeing the properties in their western markets.

Mr. Kinder was recruited to Public Storage, Inc. in late 1987 as a Regional Manager.  Public Storage is the largest self-storage operator in the world and experienced tremendous growth during Mr. Kinder’s tenure.  As Public Storage grew, Mr. Kinder’s responsibilities included National Director of Marketing and executive responsible for property operations in thirty-three markets across the United States and Canada.

In 1991 Mr. Kinder was promoted to Vice President, Operations of Canadian Mini-Warehouse Properties, Limited, a subsidiary of Public Storage, Inc., and also served as Vice President of Operations for Public Storage Management Division.  In addition to being the operating executive in Canada,  Mr. Kinder’s responsibilities included 93 properties valued at over 300 million dollars, with 6 million square feet of space, 53,000 tenants, scheduled rent in excess of 70 million annually and 225 employees in five Canadian, and three US markets.

Mr. Kinder founded Advantage Self Storage in 1997 and has been providing services to the industry and  accumulating properties in the U.S. and Canada since that time.

David C. Parr, Management and Controls Expertise

Mr. Parr graduated from the University of Colorado in 1977 and within six months was putting his first business together in Winter Park, Colorado.  Since 1981, Mr. Parr had been with SilvaCor, Inc., and has been President since 1991SilvaCor is a manufacturer of hardwood lumber for the furniture and flooring industry and has four locations in two states.  Dave brings a strong management background along with sound financial controls for the successful operation of remote facilities.

During the 1990’s, SilvaCor was involved in two separate successful run up consolidation efforts.  In 1993 SilvaCor packaged its National Brush Company unit along with W.E. Kautenberg Company unit for sale to Empire Brushes, Inc., who subsequently sold the combined entity to Rubbermaid, Inc.

During the period of 1993-1999, SilvaCor embarked on a consolidation roll up strategy for its National Wood Products Division,  a manufacturer of wood brush blocks and specialty components.  During this time National Wood Products acquired five smaller competitors, tripled it sales and became the largest brush block manufacturer in North America.  In 1999, National Wood Products was sold to Pare-Brossel Ltee, of St. Jules, Quebec, Canada.
